Use the Screenshot Toolbar

Press
Command (⌘) + Shift + 5. -
Choose either Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion.

Click Record to start.

To stop recording, click the Stop icon.
Use QuickTime Player

Open QuickTime Player.

Click File in the menu bar.

Select New Screen Recording.

Click the red Record button.

You can choose to record the full screen or just a portion.

To stop recording, click the Stop icon or use
Control + Command + Esc.
Save and Edit Your Recording
If you used the Screenshot Toolbar (Command + Shift + 5), your recording will automatically be saved to your Desktop. If you used QuickTime Player, you’ll be prompted to save your recording manually after stopping. Just go to File > Save, choose a name and location, and hit Save.
To edit your recording in QuickTime Player:

Open your recorded file.

Go to the menu bar and select Edit > Trim.

Choose the start and end points of your video.

Click Trim.

Go to File > Save or File > Export
