How to Screen Record on a Mac

You can record your Mac screen without having to download any third-party programs, either from the App Store or external websites. Keep reading to learn how.

Use the Screenshot Toolbar

  • Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 5.

  • Choose either Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion.

  • Click Record to start.

  • To stop recording, click the Stop icon.

Use QuickTime Player

  • Open QuickTime Player.

  • Click File in the menu bar.

  • Select New Screen Recording.

  • Click the red Record button.

  • You can choose to record the full screen or just a portion.

Save and Edit Your Recording
